Drupal 6 Intermediate Views Workshop

Further your Views prowess with the second installment of the Drupal Views training series.  Come see how you can gain efficiencies via importing, cloning, and exporting Views and creating multiple View displays of different content using overrides.

Additionally, we'll cover the use of exposed filters - which allow your users to search for content based on controlled keyword lists and we'll play with the fun Views Carousel style, which can be used to create a scrollable list of "featured" content such as images, text, and even entire nodes.

This workshop covers the following:

  • Intermediate Views Application
    • Views Reuse
      • Importing Views
      • Cloning Views
      • Exporting Views
  • Multiple Displays
    • Overrides
  • Exposed Filters
  • Field Row Styles
    • Carousel Style

This workshop is part of a progressive instructional series and utilizes or builds on content developed in previous workshops.  Completion of workshops 3-7 - with the exception of the Exploring OSU Themes workshop - is necessary:

  1. Drupal 6 Basics
  2. Drupal 6 Content Types
  3. Drupal 6 Developing Site Structures
  4. Drupal 6 Exploring OSU Themes (this course is optional)
  5. Drupal 6 Formatting Blocks
  6. Drupal 6 Generating Custom Content Types
  7. Drupal 6 How To Use Views

Please note that this is an advanced workshop that requires a personal Drupal training site which has been completed up to this level of instruction.  If you do not have a personal training site with the necessary content, you will not be eligible for this workshop.  For more information contact CWS at x71189.

Please also note that while the instructional topic list is growing shorter, the actual work done within each topic will be much more dense and complex.
